Every child deserves a healthy start.

We received our first corporate donation from SmartyPants Vitamins, maker of premium gummy vitamins. This was the perfect partnership to reach our pregnant, teenage population, who may not feel the need for prenatal nutrition. We paired vitamins with education to deliver on our shared value that “everyone deserves a chance at good health.”

The Clean Hands Project (CHP) jumped into action with their donation of sanitizing wipes for our Covid-19 relief efforts. CHP and MNF align on the fundamental belief that quality health and sanitary supplies should be accessible to everyone. The CHP is run by UC Berkeley scientists and volunteers alongside the Common Humanity Collective who help produce and distribute sanitizing materials and masks.

SisterWeb is a birth justice and workforce development organization that provides free doula services to Black, LatinX, and Pacific Islander birthing people and their families in San Francisco.  SisterWeb believes people of all cultural identification, family structure, income or citizenship deserve to have healthy and satisfying birth experiences. SisterWeb provides sustainable and honorable employment to community birth workers from within the populations most targeted by racism to help build strong, thriving neighborhoods where families can welcome their babies with joy and pride.

SisterWeb is uniquely posed to provide a solution to a well-documented inequity in birth outcomes for Black, Pacific Islander, and LatinX families in San Francisco. They combat the issue in two ways:

  1. First, SisterWeb connects pregnant individuals in San Francisco with culturally compatible birth companions who can help parents-to-be receive the education, resources, and support they need to enter into their birth and parenting journeys with confidence, respect, and dignity.

  2. Second, SisterWeb strengthens and diversifies the birth provider workforce by training and mentoring birth companions and building relationships with traditional healthcare providers such as physicians, midwives, and hospitals.
